Hide sensitive details
Mark as many areas as you need with rectangles or ovals, which fit faces well. Use Pixelate or Blur for faces, house numbers and license plates. For text such as addresses, account numbers or passwords, Black out is the safest choice: a weak blur on text can sometimes be partly reversed, while a solid box removes the information completely.
Blur the background
Choose Everything except selected areas, mark your subject, and the rest of the picture is blurred. This gives a simple portrait-mode look and helps a product or person stand out.
How it works
The blur is a smooth Gaussian-style blur computed in the browser, so it looks the same in Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari. Strength is relative to the image size, so the preview matches the full resolution download. Your image is never uploaded. Very large images can take a few seconds on phones.
Frequently asked questions
How do I blur a face in a photo?
Choose Blur or Pixelate, keep Selected areas only, switch the shape to Oval, and drag over the face. Increase the strength until the face is unrecognizable, then download.
Is blurring enough to hide text?
Strong blur or pixelation usually works, but light blur on text can sometimes be partly reversed. Use Black out for passwords, addresses and account numbers.
Can I blur just the background?
Yes. Choose Everything except selected areas and drag a box over the subject you want to keep sharp.
Can I blur the whole picture?
Yes. Choose Whole image and set the strength.
Is my image uploaded?
No. All editing happens on your device.
