How to use Image Color Adjustments
- 1Drop a photo or paste one with Ctrl+V.
- 2Try a filter such as Vivid, Warm, Black & white or Vintage, or start from Original.
- 3Fine-tune brightness, contrast, saturation, temperature, tint, hue, sepia and grayscale. Click a value to reset that slider.
- 4Press and hold Hold to see original to compare, then choose a format and click Download edited image.
Common fixes
- Too dark: raise Brightness a little and Contrast slightly.
- Flat or hazy: raise Contrast and Saturation.
- Too blue or too yellow: move Temperature the other way. Use Tint for green or magenta casts.
- Black and white: set Grayscale to 100 and add some contrast.
How the adjustments work
All adjustments are combined into one color calculation applied to every pixel, using the same formulas as CSS filters for brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, sepia and grayscale. Because the math runs in plain JavaScript, results look the same in every modern browser, including Safari. The preview uses a smaller copy of your photo for speed, and the download is processed at full resolution.
Privacy and output
Your photo is edited in your browser and never uploaded. The edited image keeps its original dimensions. Saving as the original format keeps JPG as JPG and PNG as PNG with transparency.
Frequently asked questions
How do I brighten a dark photo?
Raise Brightness to about 115 to 130 percent and add a little Contrast so the image does not look washed out.
How do I make a photo black and white?
Click the Black & white filter, or set Grayscale to 100 percent and adjust Contrast to taste.
Can I fix a photo that looks too blue?
