  4. 4Pick the output format and quality, check the preview, then click Download resized image.

Social media sizes included

Presets cover Instagram posts (1080 x 1080 and 1080 x 1350) and stories (1080 x 1920), Facebook shared images and page covers, X (Twitter) posts and headers, LinkedIn posts and banners, YouTube thumbnails (1280 x 720) and channel banners, Pinterest pins, TikTok covers, Open Graph link previews and profile pictures.

Crop, border or stretch?

  • Crop to fill fills the whole frame and trims the edges evenly from the center. Best for most photos.
  • Fit with border keeps the whole picture and adds bars in a color you choose, or transparent bars for PNG and WebP.
  • Stretch forces the exact size and can distort faces and shapes.

To choose exactly which part of the photo to keep, use the Crop Image tool instead.

Quality tips

Shrinking an image keeps it sharp because the tool downsizes in steps with high quality smoothing. Enlarging cannot add detail, so a small image made much bigger will look soft. For many files at once, use the Batch Image Resizer.

Frequently asked questions

How do I resize an image without stretching it?

Keep the aspect ratio lock on and change only the width or height. If you need an exact size with a different shape, choose Crop to fill or Fit with border.

What size is an Instagram post?

A square post is 1080 x 1080 pixels and a portrait post is 1080 x 1350. Stories and Reels are 1080 x 1920. All are available as presets.

Will resizing reduce the file size?

Making an image smaller in pixels almost always makes the file smaller. The preview shows the new file size before you download.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The image is resized in your browser and never leaves your device.

Can I resize HEIC photos from an iPhone?

Yes. HEIC files are converted automatically, and you can save the result as JPG, PNG or WebP.
