How to use Split PDF

  1. 1Add your PDF. Page thumbnails appear as they are rendered.
  2. 2Choose a mode: Click to cut, By ranges, Every N pages, or Every page.
  3. 3In Click to cut, click the page where a new file should begin. Numbered badges show which file each page goes to.
  4. 4Click Split and download each part, or all of them at once as a ZIP.

Four ways to split

  • Click to cut is the fastest for documents you can see, such as several scanned letters in one file.
  • By ranges creates one file per range, for example 1-3, 4-10, 11-. Ranges may overlap.
  • Every N pages makes equal chunks, handy for forms that are always two pages long.
  • Every page saves each page as its own PDF.

File names that make sense

Each part is named after the original and its pages, for example invoice-pages-1-3.pdf or invoice-page-7.pdf, so you can tell parts apart without opening them. When there is more than one part they are bundled into a single ZIP download.

Quality and privacy

Pages are copied, not re-rendered, so text stays searchable and images keep full quality. Splitting happens in your browser, and nothing is uploaded. Very long documents take a little longer to preview, but you can start selecting while thumbnails are still loading.

Frequently asked questions

How do I split a PDF into single pages?

Choose the Every page tab and click Split. You get one PDF per page, downloaded together as a ZIP.

Can I split a PDF into equal parts?

Yes. Use Every N pages and enter the number of pages per file, such as 2 or 10.

What range format can I type?

Single pages and ranges separated by commas, like 1-3, 5, 8-. A range ending in a dash runs to the last page.

Does splitting reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied unchanged, so the parts look identical to the original.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?

Yes, if you know the password. The tool asks for it and the parts it creates are not password-protected.
